Polyaspartic
Polyaspartic is a polyurea, chemically speaking, with the cure slowed down enough to be workable by hand. It is the top of our build and it is the reason a floor can go down in a day and still be there in fifteen years.

Why it suits this climate
The install window is the practical difference. Epoxy needs a warm slab and days of cure time, which takes most of a Massachusetts winter off the table. Polyaspartic cures down to about −10°F, so January is a normal working month for us.
The other difference is UV. Polyaspartic is aliphatic, which is the chemistry that does not yellow in sunlight. That matters through a garage door and it matters absolutely on a patio or a pool deck.
What it is not good at
It is unforgiving of a bad slab. A fast cure means there is no time to fix a mistake, and it will not save a floor that was prepped badly. Polyaspartic over an unground slab fails exactly as fast as epoxy would.
It is also more expensive per gallon than epoxy. The cost comes back in return to service time and in not doing the floor again in five years, but it is a real difference on the quote.
