What Granville concrete tends to need
This is barn and outbuilding country. Alongside the houses there are detached garages, equipment sheds and workshops, most of them unheated, many of them on slabs poured decades ago straight onto whatever base was there. An unheated slab in the hills goes through a harder freeze and thaw cycle than a valley garage does, which is the whole argument for a flexible polyurea basecoat under the flake rather than a rigid epoxy that cracks with the concrete.
