Quotes

Published pricing on this site is $7 to $10 per square foot installed. That is a genuine working range and not a teaser, but it is not a quote.

A quote is the written number we give you after measuring your floor on site. That visit is free and carries no obligation.

Once a written quote is signed, the price is fixed. It does not change because of what we find during preparation. If something is discovered that genuinely changes the scope of work, for example an unexpected coating to remove or a moisture problem, we stop, tell you, and agree what happens next before continuing. We do not add charges to the final invoice that you have not agreed to first.

Estimates produced by the calculator on this website are arithmetic from the published range and your own inputs. They are an illustration, not an offer.

Scheduling and access

We book a date rather than a window. If weather or a job ahead of yours forces a change, we tell you as early as we can and agree a new date.

The area being coated needs to be completely clear before we arrive, including vehicles, shelving, freezers and anything mounted to the floor. If the space is not clear we may not be able to start, and a wasted visit may have to be rescheduled.

We need access to power and water on site, and for exterior work a slab that is dry with a dry forecast.

The work

Unless the written quote says otherwise, every floor is mechanically prepared with diamond grinding, repaired where the quote allows for it, then coated with a polyurea basecoat, a vinyl flake broadcast and two polyaspartic topcoats.

Return to service times are typical rather than guaranteed, because they depend on temperature and humidity on the day. We tell you the specific times for your floor before we leave.

Concrete is an existing structure that we did not pour. Preparation exposes what is already there. Colour variation in the slab, the outline of old repairs, and cracks that were previously hidden can become visible during grinding. Where these affect the finished appearance we will point them out before coating.

The 15 year warranty

Residential floors carry a 15 year written warranty against delamination, peeling and blistering caused by our workmanship or by failure of the coating system itself. The written warranty issued with your job is the operative document, and it takes precedence over this page.

It is offered to the original customer at the address where the work was carried out.

What the warranty does not cover

Movement of the slab itself. Settlement, heave, and new structural cracks originating in the concrete are not coating failures. Where we identify a slab as structurally unsuitable we say so before quoting rather than warranting a floor over it.

Water reaching the floor from elsewhere, including hydrostatic pressure, failed drainage, plumbing leaks and flooding.

Damage from impact, dragging heavy or sharp objects, cutting on the floor, welding, or chemical spills outside normal household use.

Wear from abrasive grit that is not cleaned off, and staining from substances left standing on the surface.

Any alteration, recoating or repair carried out by somebody else.

Colour change caused by anything other than the coating itself. Flake blends are manufactured products and batches can vary slightly.

Payment

Payment terms are set out on your written quote. We do not ask for payment in full before work begins.

Massachusetts law limits the deposit a home improvement contractor may take before work starts, and we work within it.

Licensing and insurance

Gorilla Coatings LLC is registered as a home improvement contractor in Massachusetts and carries liability insurance. Our registration number is MA HIC #000000. A certificate of insurance is available on request, and you should ask any contractor for one.

Massachusetts home improvement contracts above the statutory threshold must be in writing and contain terms required by state law. Yours will be.
